Not My Boyfriend's Jeans + Monk Shoes

20 September 2015

I mean, they're boyfriend jeans, but they're not my boyfriend's jeans.

If you've been following my blog for a while you'd know that I love to pinch from Shah's closet, especially this one particular piece (which you can see here and here). I've gotten myself a few pairs of men's jeans for myself since, from the men's section, and it's been great.

I like the looseness of men's jeans but they're obviously designed with men on their makers' mind, which means they won't fit absolutely perfectly. So when I saw these boyfriend jeans in Bershkaboyfriend jeans that actually look like they're your boyfriend's, except they're designed with women in mindI GOTS TO HAVE IT, you know what I'm saying?

Now moving on to the shoes.

Seriously, lust at first sight. I was a little apprehensive about them being patent leather as I've never had a pair of shoes this shiny, but there's a first time for everything, right? It was the last pair left in Aldo and it was exactly my size, so what does this tell you?

I didn't know what these shoes are called, but I did a little digging (translation: Googling) and found out the straps are called 'monk straps'. Which is making me wonder about the origin of the name, like ??? monk + straps ???

So basically they're called 'monk shoes', or if you want to get very specific, 'double monk strap shoes', and I feel so good about learning something new. If you're interested, check out the 'monk straps' article here and you'll get to brush up on your shoes vocab, too.
