    Making Eye Makeup Less Complicated

Nothing elaborate here, guys (probably nothing Instagram-worthy, either), but super simple and pretty effective, I promise! I just want to share with you guys my simplest way of achieving smokey eye makeup, that's appropriate even for daytime.

I mean, I love all the fancy eye makeup looks: the cut crease thing, the winged out shadow, the quatro-tone shadow Kim Kardashian look I did before (this post, by the way), but sometimes girl just wants to cut down a 60-minute makeup routine way shorter.

I spend most of my makeup session on my eye makeupconcealing or drawing eyebrows usually comes in secondbut this particular eye makeup takes such a short time but produces quite an impact, so I'm super down with this look. And did I say it's so easy to do? SO easy.

First of all I applied my favourite foundation, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in 44 Beige Ambre (primer beforehand, if you use it) and primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion (optional; this is a must for me, though). Then with a fluffy eyeshadow brusheveryone can rely on the universally loved MAC 217!apply a brown eyeshadow shade all over your lid up to the crease and buff out the edges.

You can switch brown eyeshadow with any colour for this stepblue purple green burgundy, go nutsbut I want to keep the look as understated as possible. Feel free to use a clean finger in place of a brush for this step, too, it's all about no-fuss.

Then, with a small angled brush or a small thin brush, or even a cotton budI used Revlon thin lip brush, which works wonderfully for eye makeupapply black eyeshadow in a thin line very, very close to your top and bottom lashes, like this:

I like to make the top liner slightly thicker, and draw a thin line under my eyes, stopping the line three-quarter in, leaving the lower inner corner of my eyes bare.

This step really, really doesn't have to be perfected; smudginess is A-OK. The next steps to take after this are to clean up any shadow fallout (if there's any), conceal under the eyes, curl your lashes and apply mascara, and your eyes are DONE.

I continued by powdering, adding a light bronzer along my cheekbones (or you can apply blush, of course), combed and gelled my brows (growing out my brows here, guys), and I finished off my makeup with a brown-red lipstick (refer top-most right photo).

This is the kind of makeup that I always fall back on when I'm strapped for time. The beauty of this eye makeup to me is it goes with any and every lipstick imaginable! I had this exact eye makeup on for my birthday in January, which I paired with the darker MAC Rebel:

Like I said, this eye makeup goes with everything.

Do you guys have a go-to makeup look as well?

These are the other makeup products I used in this post:
The Balm Nude'tude Sultry and Serious eyeshadows

    1. So, yang, if I did wear make-up on a daily basis, I'd definitely give this a go. I'm particularly in love with your lipstick!!

    2. Thanks, Sheela! I would LOVE to see the makeup on you. I think you have the kind of face that could pretty much carry any makeup though, but I'd still want to see it anyway!
